Cotypist

Cotypist is an AI writing assistant for Apple Silicon Macs that predicts what you are likely to type next and displays suggestions directly in the text field you are using. Unlike traditional chat-based writing tools, it works inline across many applications, including email, messaging, browsers, notes, and other text fields. Users can accept a complete suggestion or take only part of it word by word, while continuing to type replaces suggestions that do not fit. The app runs its language model locally on the Mac, so the writing context does not need to leave the device for prediction. Cotypist is designed to reduce repetitive typing while keeping the writer in control rather than generating entire passages automatically.
