What is Frontman?

Frontman is an open-source AI coding agent designed to edit existing web applications through the browser rather than generating a separate project from scratch. Developers can click an element in their running application, describe the desired change in plain English, and let Frontman trace that element to the relevant source code. It can work with the live DOM, component tree, styles, routes, and development context before applying code changes and showing the result through hot reload. Frontman integrates with frameworks including Next.js, Astro, and Vite and is designed for visual frontend iteration. It is particularly useful when developers need to make UI fixes without repeatedly switching between the browser and code editor.
