Butterbase

Butterbase is an agent-native backend platform designed for applications built with AI coding tools. It combines PostgreSQL databases, authentication, file storage, serverless functions, realtime data, RAG, and an AI model gateway in one backend. Its MCP server lets coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and Windsurf interact directly with backend resources, including database setup and application deployment. Butterbase also provides automatic REST APIs, row-level security, frontend hosting, webhooks, audit logs, and multi-region infrastructure. Developers can describe backend requirements to an AI agent instead of manually configuring several separate services. The platform is open source and self-hostable, making it suitable for teams that want control over their backend and application data.
